I haven’t updated for a while, half because I’ve been busy working and half because I have been lucky enough to spend the weekend at the Östa nature reserve on Dalälven.
We went there on Friday with Henrik and Celeste because Henrik’s family have a summer-house there. We were joined by the rest of the family on the Saturday and they created a great family feeling for us, with 8 or 9 of us around the table for every meal.
On Saturday we went walking in the forest to a natural spring, visited the place where the last wolf in the area was shot and went canoeing on the lake. When we were out on the lake you could see the handiwork of the local beaver who had been munching down trees to make his nest. In the evening it was into the wood burning sauna and when you couldn’t take it anymore, a 5 meter run down and into the lake for a refreshing dip! Never thought I would actually do that, but it felt great! So much so, me and Maria done it three times.

On the Sunday before coming home, we went to the forest and picked Kantarell mushrooms for the first time. We were hopeless at first to find them, but we managed to get a bag full at the end and spent the evening cleaning them off. Mushroom soup for lunch for the next week?
