Moon Cake…

This is one from last week actually, but only now have I the photos to prove it!

On Wednesday, me, David, Kaiyu and Emanuel gathered at the GaryWritesABlog.com corporate headquarters to celebrate the Chinese mid-autumn festival. First up was a special type of tea, direct from China. The tea was a small ball of green that looked a little like a poppy seed head, but when you added water, it really came to life! The outside of the “tea ball” swelled up and opened like petals of a flower, then out came a bloom of red carnation and after 2 mins a stigma of white made a break for the surface.

If only you could do the same with hot chocolate…

We also had moon cake, a Chinese delicacy to which I am rather partial. This years moon cake was especially tasty, one of them had a mixture of five seeds and the other contained a complete and unbroken yolk of a duck egg. Everybody should eat moon cake at least once a year! Thanks to Kaiyu for organising and to David for the pictures.
