Coldplay

Tonight we’re going to see Coldplay at Globen.

I almost saw them once before, back in March 2000 at the Venue, a small gig club in Edinburgh which holds about 150 and is now an office.

Me and Colin went through to get tickets for a band called Terris which had been on the cover of the NME that week as being the next big thing. The support band was called Coldplay of which I had heard one song, Shiver, which was their first single from their first full album which hadn’t been released yet.

Anyway, thanks to the hype in the NME we got turned away at the door as it was sold out just before we got there. Terris went on to totally disappear from the face of the earth while Coldplay went on to write a song called Yellow, become international megastars, sell 40 million albums, marry beautiful actresses and name their children after types of fruit
