Neil’s Smelly (gift)

Neil was in Chamonix in August and decided to buy a gift for me and Maria.

What a kind and thoughtful brother…

Except that he decided to buy some smelly cheese and for good measure, waited for a couple of months to give it to us.

As we are having guests staying in our flat this weekend, I thought it was best to get the smell out of the fridge so opened up the wrapped packages and ate the cheese. If there are no future posts on this blog, you know the reason why…

The first cheese you see below should actually have been a fresh goats cheese. I managed to srape it down until it looked semi-safe and had it with an omelette and some smoked ham.

The second cheese was some soft white cheese that I ate on bread with shrimp and vegetables in curried coconut milk.

It wasn’t that colour when it left my fridge a week ago!
What did you do to it? put it on an open shelf in a warm room by the looks of it!

Anyway, I thought you both liked cheese?

I now have independent confirmation that the cheese wasn’t that colour when you left Armadale either; only after you put it in your trouser pockets on your flight home to avoid having to pay baggage charges!
