La Bohème

Last Wednesday we saw how the other half live…

Thanks to some fantastic planning by my mate Frank, 22 of us headed off to the fancy pants Lydmar Hotel on the Stockholm harbour waterfront where we met up in one of the living rooms and shared a few bottles of champagne while a pianist belted out a few hits by Puccini.

After that it was a short walk over to the opera house to see the real thing, La bohème.

At half time we retired to the Guldfoajén (Gold Foyèr) for another glass or three of champagne. (Problem is getting time to drink all this champagne! )

The final act was a tear-jerker, but the whole thing was superb.

Afterwords we headed off to the bar at the Grand Hotel for a little after-show mingle. First time I had been in there, but also nice for a wee change (reminded me a wee bit of the Regal in Armadale).

Whole night was a great success! (Thanks Frank!)
