Poaching an egg…

Seems like it’s a common problem. The question is, what is the best way to poach an egg?

I had a Burn’s Night Supper on Friday and the starter was a poached egg on toast with smoked salmon and a Hollandaise sauce, so I done some research online to make sure I could do 6 perfect poached eggs.

I always found that the vortex method was satisfactory, but it only really works well when you’re cooking with gas and not electricity.

AT LAST, someone has carried out an in-depth and scientific study and found the best way. It’s also very funny. Check it out here.

By the way, the meal went well, we of course had Haggis, Neeps and Tatties and then had Cranachan for dessert!

The poached egg, as well as the Haggis, Neeps and Tatties tasted really good!
I asked Peter, and he agrees with me :)
Thank you for the nice evening!

Yes, thanks for all the nice food. It was great fun to try the Scottish food.

By the way, you were talking about buying a bagpipe and I told you about an old classical Swedish TV-show that was on TV when I grew up. Have a look on how Bengt Alstelind makes his own bagpipe (you should be able to built one of them yourself).

    That’s class!

Can’t understand why bagpipes cost about £800 (10000 SEK) when all they are made of is a recorder and a beach ball. Must be very expensive to buy tartan beach balls…

Love the way the guy feels the need to work around in small circles why he’s playing. Everyone must think that Scottish people are demented.
