Last weekend, I spent all of Saturday in a recording studio. A sound engineer that we know had agreed to help us record a couple of songs from our band and for some reason it was me that had to go in first and lay down the basic guitar parts.
We said that we would be there for 4 hours and record 6 songs. We were there for 8 hours and recorded 3 songs.
It’s a very involved process, just trying to get it sound just right. From those 8 hours, I was actually playing for a total of about 40 minutes, the rest of the time was getting the amp and mic settings just right for each song.
Well, I get a bit of a break this weekend as it’s the other guitarist from the band that goes in tomorrow. Hopefully he will get it sounding better than me!
