Up at Neils house in the north east for a couple of days. We got up early this morning and headed off to Peterhead at the crack of dawn so that Neil and 15 others could run along the beach from Peterhead to Fraserburgh (16 miles). It was fridge-freezing, so I let them get on with it and just enjoyed the nice scenery and went for a walk along the beach to the harbour…
By this time I was absolutely freezing so I made it to the only cafe that was open and had a coffee and a large piece of toffee cream cake. I did think about saving a piece for Neil, but quickly reconsidered.
The sun was really out by this time and the walk back along the sea was nice, especially the sand and the big waves crashing on the rocks at the south side of the bay.
Neil done well to complete the race quickly, and after lunch we headed off to Slanes castle which was the insperation for Bram Stokers, Dracula.
Neil got his own back on me for eating all the Toffee cake. Not only did he make me wear an Aberdeen FC scarf, (see above for proof), but he also made me carry home the logs for the fire. Can’t complain as he’s making the dinner while I’m typing this…
