The advert above has been running on a bus stop near my flat for a few weeks now and has been catching my attention. It says “Hur mycket har egentligen hänt på 30 år?” which roughly means, “How much has actually happened in the last 30 years?”.
That’s a good question for me as today I turn the big THREEEEEE-OOOOOO.

Well, I would say that the last 30 years have certainly been the busiest of my life. Turning thirty always seemed like it was a long way off and to be honest it doesn’t really feel like it is happening to me, rather that it’s happening to some other Gary that people are talking to me about.
Although it’s wierd, I’m quite relaxed about it. It’s a milestone that my 20’s are behind me and I’ll miss them as they were a huge adventure, but I’m determined that tomorrow will always be better than today.
If tomorrow is better than today, then I’ll be a very lucky man as I have a great life just now and am thankful for everything in it, including the challenges ahead.
Anyway, I heard that birthdays are good for you…
Statistics show that the people who have the most birthdays, live the longest.
Yep, Happy birthday to you, auld yin. Many congratulations on reaching such a venerable milestone.
Remember though, good things come with experience…. my extra three years must be the reason that I have more than double your predictor points?
Let’s not get into any petty arguements about the predictor at this stage. It’s far too early to be comparing scores. Ahem.

Of course, at the other extreme of age, experience morphs into senility, and that extreme is likely to be found propping up the league.
Neil i was thinking something very similar myself. Of course it could simply be that Graeme took your advice and did have one or two pina colada’s to many before entering his predictions.

Although I’m languishing near the bottom of the mini-league, I’m actually quite confident for the new season. This week I actually guessed (predicted) the correct result in three of the games and was only one goal off in each from full points.
So by rights, I’m actually top of the league…
