Last weekend, while not getting thrashed at football, I spent my time at the “Where the Action Is” music festival. Although it was a staggering 1400Kr for a ticket, Emanuel managed to get us some free tickets thanks to the sponsors.
We got the tickets at about 6pm on the Friday, just in time to get in and see Seasick Steve (a 65 year old blues musician who plays songs about parasites who live in the long grass of Alabama) which was a good start.
Then it was the Pixies, which is the second time I’ve seen them.
Then it was a few beers and then Neil Young another 65+ year old who was top class. I really like Neil young and he was playing all the classics and started the show with an acoustic session of four or five songs before the rest of the band joined him. It is a little known fact that I also do a fantastic Neil Young impression…
On the Saturday it was raining the whole day through, it never stopped. Perfect festival weather!
We saw The Magic Numbers…
Then the highlight for me, Moneybrother. I saw them at this same festival four years ago and they were just as good this time!
After a few beers and a huge fried shrimp open sandwich type thing, it was the evenings low-point of Duffy.
Still continued raining (Maria and Johanna).
To rap things off was Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, who came on stage at 11pm and played till 1am. First time I’ve seen Nick Cave live and I was impressed, was very cool.
Then it was walk home time, in the rain and got to bed late…
Sounds good,
But any chance you could get the rain turned off prior to sunday?
