Here is where we were staying in Bratislava. It was a small apartment about 30 mins walk from the city centre and was the cheapest thing we could get in Bratislava. Hotels etc are unbelievably expensive there and the fact that they have changed over to the Euro in January meant that our Swedish Kronor was not going far (it’s fell big time against the Euro). Even though our apartment was the best price available, friends of ours still payed a lot less per night for a hotel room in Glasgow city centre over Easter weekend.
Our apartment was nice inside, but was actually a building site in the main corridor with no walls or roof. We got woken up to the sound of pigeons cooing every morning. The authentic ex-communist country experience…
