Over the winter I designed and built a new kiosk that lets you download cool applications to your mobile phone by touching your phone against a little “hotspot”. Last week I installed the first of these in the main tourist office in the city and you can download free guided tours to your mobile during this trial period which will last a couple of weeks.
Has went quite well so far, though of course the occasional technical hickup, but nothing major. It has to compete with a lot of other flashing screens etc for the visitors attention and it’s stuck in a back corner, but already it’s been well used.
