Early Christmas present

Just got an early Christmas present from my beloved landlord, a 4% rent rise.

Of course, it comes at a great time with the economy doing so well. These people have absolutely no clue.

What makes it worse is that we got a letter yesterday saying there was going to be an average price increase of 2.4% and today the rent bill came in with a 4% increase. The new higher rent has to be paid next week. How are people meant to be able to budget their monthly costs when their major expense jumps up 4% and you get 1 days notice and 7 days to pay the higher bill?

Of course, the people sitting on the rent board committee have no idea what it is like for their tennants and obviously have no foresight that dropping a huge rise on people the week before Christmas with less than a weeks notice is not going to go down well.
