After a great week in Montreal, we flew yesterday to Seattle via Chicago. It took all day, but we arrived at around 9pm and Maria’s brother and wife came and picked us up. It was his birthday so we went home for a big dinner which lasted till 2am (which was 4am for us who had just got used to Montreal time).

Today was our first day in Seattle and it was great. Hot and sunny and we got a spectacular view of the city and the then the sunset over the Pacific.

With the world’s financial systems in meltdown, I have decided on a course of strategy to make sure my company and me survive it. I’m going to completely ignore it because I can’t do anything about it anyway.

So last Thursday me and Maria went on holiday! We started off flying to Amsterdam and had the morning in the city before boarding a flight to Montreal.

We stayed in Montreal for a day before going on a 2 day bus tour to Toronto and then on to Niagara Falls. Went on the Maid of the Mist etc. was brilliant.

Now we’re back in Montreal and I’m writing this while waiting on Maria to get ready (have time for a novel), before we go and spend the day in Montreal’s old port area.

I tried to take money out my bank account yesterday and got refused… I hope my bank still exists?
